Afterschool, Enrichment, Scholarship Resources

We are pleased to be able to offer the following after school enrichment opportunities at WSC:

West Side Collaborative/City Parks After School Program

WSC’s new free full-time on-site science and media arts after school program is underway!

Please use this link to access additional information about our comprehensive new program.

The after school program is open to current students.

Students should request a registration form from their homeroom teacher.

Wingspan Arts After School Program will begin in the winter.

We have received a grant from Wingspan Arts to offer arts enrichment classes which will culminate in a gallery show or performance.

Teen Thursdays at the New-York Historical Society will return in the spring.

WSC was one of five middle schools selected to pilot the Teen Thursday DOE initiative last spring, and we will again be participating in the program this year. Throughout the spring, students will participate in student-driven, project-based curricular projects about American history at the site of our cultural partner, the New-York Historical Society.

WSC participates in the Urban Advantage middle school science initiative.

Throughout the year, we will be holding family days at Urban Advantage partner institutions which include zoos, botanical gardens, museums and science centers. Urban Advantage is a standards-based partnership program designed to improve students' understanding of scientific inquiry.

Below you will find a sortable list of additional after-school and summer programs available in our neighborhood, that our students have attended in the past.  You may sort this list by the type of after-school, the cost, and location; simply click on the drop down menu and chose the option you are interested in.
