iConnect! Week

During the first eight days of school, students participated in the first of three Immersion Weeks, iConnect!  Students were involved in team and community building activities, literature and math activities and courses in digital ethics, to build the foundation for their work this school year.  Students needs and strengths were accessed to create a more personalized set of goals for each student and introduce students to their “academic coach.”   We know that building this foundation during the first week of school will help our students learn about the expectations, values and programs that are at the core of WSC.

As an Innovation Zone School (iZone), we just received one hundred Mac Book Pros and licenses for our students to participate in a wide range of online curriculum used to supplement our WSC curriculum.  The focus of our iZone work will continue to build on last year’s work including flexible student groupings to create personalized instruction, online coursework, online teacher collaboration tools and a “Digital Academy.”
