Students explored drawing and sculpture techniques to create detailed, intricately patterned shadow puppets with moveable limbs, inspired by aspects of their personality. Working collaboratively, they created a narrative around these shadow puppets inspired by folktales with morals. They animated their puppets, visualizing the narrative behind a shadow screen, using photography and video to capture their performances. They also composed music and added dialogue into this shadow puppet video narrative. The final exhibition includes the sculptural shadow puppets as well as the collaboratively created video, accompanied by the narrative and artist statements.
